Nigeria Chronicles

"Back in the old sod, I found my calling. "

Nigerian Chronicle is a body of work created during my years living in Nigeria from 2015 to 2018. The pieces shown here are a selection from a larger body of roughly 60 individual works. This period was formative in every sense, laying the conceptual and technical foundation that continues to shape my practice today.

It was here that I developed a deep command of photomontage, learning to layer imagery in ways that collapse time, place, and narrative into a single frame. Nigeria’s visual richness, its textures, contradictions, and histories, gave me endless material to work with and pushed me to think about collage not just as a compositional tool, but as a way of constructing meaning.
