The Bends is an ongoing series of exaggerated digital portraits that treat the body as a pressure gauge, twisting photographed figures into near abstract silhouettes while they remain strangely poised and composed. Drawing on the diver’s condition of the same name, the work visualises what stress can do to a person and how we try to hide it, freezing each sitter in a vibrant, hyperreal moment outside time.
